Terms of service
Last updated 21 October 2026
These terms apply to every service you order from VPS GB through this website or your account: virtual servers, web hosting, game servers, load balancers, object storage, SSL certificates and managed services. By ordering a service you agree to them. How we handle your personal information is in our privacy notice.
Who we are
VPS GB, London, United Kingdom ("we", "us"). You can reach us at [email protected] or with the "Get help" form in your account.
Ordering and paying
- The price you are shown before you order is the price you pay. Prices are final. VPS GB is not VAT registered, so no VAT is added.
- Most services are invoiced for the first month when you order, and are set up once that invoice is paid. Virtual server orders are reviewed by us first and invoiced after that. SSL certificates are invoiced once, for the certificate's term.
- Monthly services renew automatically each month, in advance, until you cancel them.
- If a renewal is not paid, we may suspend the service until it is, and may end it if it stays unpaid.
Your right to cancel
If you are a consumer — ordering for yourself, not for a business — you can cancel any order within 14 days of placing it, without giving a reason. The 14 days start on the day you place the order, which is the day our contract is made.
Our services are set up as soon as they are paid for, usually within minutes, so every order form asks you to confirm that you want us to start straight away, inside those 14 days. Because you have asked us to start:
- if you cancel within the 14 days, you pay for the service we provided up to the time you told us you were cancelling, in proportion to the full period you paid for (pro-rata), and we refund the rest;
- we refund you without undue delay, and within 14 days of you telling us, to the payment method you used.
To cancel within the 14 days, email
[email protected] or
open a support ticket, and tell us the order reference
(it starts VPSGB- and is on your order page and invoice). A clear
statement that you are cancelling is enough. You can use this model
cancellation form, but you do not have to:

I hereby give notice that I cancel my contract for the supply of the following service:

This right is for consumers only. If you order for a business, trade or profession, it does not apply to you, and the cancellation terms below are the ones that do.
Cancelling
After the 14-day cancellation period above has passed — or at any time, if you are a business customer — these terms apply when you cancel:
- Monthly services need 7 days' notice, and managed services 30 days' notice, as stated when you order and on your invoice. Managed services can be cancelled from your account; for anything else, tell us through "Get help" or by email.
- Billing stops at the end of the notice period. We do not refund the part of a month already paid for, unless the law requires us to.
- When a service ends, the data on it may be deleted. Take a copy of anything you want to keep before then.
Availability
We work hard to keep every service running, and we publish what is up and what is not on our status page. But no online service is available all of the time, and we do not guarantee that any service will be uninterrupted, error-free or available at any particular time. Services can be unavailable or slow because of maintenance, faults in our systems or our suppliers', attacks, or events outside our control. We do not offer a service level agreement or service credits unless we have agreed one with you in writing.
Your side
- Back up your own data. Unless you have bought a backup service from us, keeping copies of what is on your services is your responsibility.
- Keep your passwords, keys and access tokens safe; anything done with them is treated as done by you.
- Use the services lawfully, and follow our acceptable use policy below.
Acceptable use policy
This policy applies to every service you have with us, and to everyone who uses it — you, your staff, and anyone you let use it. If you resell our services, it applies to your customers too (see below).
What you must not do
- Anything illegal under UK law, or anything that helps someone else break it. That includes fraud, selling stolen data or credentials, terrorist content, and hosting or distributing material that infringes someone else's copyright, trade marks or other rights.
- Child sexual abuse material, of any kind. We end the service immediately, without notice, and report it to the Internet Watch Foundation and the National Crime Agency.
- Malware. Don't host, spread or control viruses, ransomware or other malicious software, botnets, or command-and-control servers.
- Phishing, or any site or message pretending to be someone it is not to get people's passwords, money or personal details.
- Spam. Don't send unsolicited bulk email or messages, or send to bought or scraped lists, or advertise a site hosted with us that way. Mailing lists must be opt-in and easy to leave.
- Network abuse — from our network or against anyone else's: scanning networks or ports you don't own or have permission to test, denial of service attacks, brute-forcing passwords, forging packet headers or email senders, or breaking into systems.
- Open proxies and relays. Don't run, or leave misconfigured, an open mail relay, open proxy or open DNS resolver that anyone on the internet can use.
- Cryptocurrency mining, unless your plan says it is allowed. It is never allowed on web hosting or reseller hosting.
- Hogging shared hosting. Web hosting and reseller hosting share servers with other customers, and "unmetered" means fair use. Don't use far more processor time, memory, disk or bandwidth than a normal website needs, or run long-running background programs, file-sharing or backup stores that have nothing to do with your site.
- Harassment: threatening, stalking or bullying anyone, or publishing someone's private information to target them (doxxing).
If you resell our services
You are responsible for your customers following this policy. Make sure your own terms with them are at least as strict, and deal with reports about them promptly. If one of your customers breaks it, we may act on that customer's site or service, or on yours if we need to.
What we do about a breach
We act in proportion to the harm. Usually that means:
- We tell you and ask you to fix it, with a reasonable time to do so, where that is safe and lawful.
- We may suspend a service while we look into it. Suspending stops the service from running or being reached; it does not cancel it, and it does not delete anything on it. We tell you when we suspend, and why, unless the law, or a police investigation, means we can't.
- We suspend straight away, without notice, where there is serious harm happening now: child sexual abuse material, an attack in progress, malware or phishing that is actively spreading, or something putting our network or other customers at risk.
- We may end a service, or your account, for a serious breach or for breaches that keep happening after we have told you about them.
If we end a service because of a serious breach of this policy, we do not refund what you have paid for it. This does not affect your right to cancel above, or any other legal rights you have as a consumer.
When a service ends, what we say about your data under Cancelling applies. We will not give anyone access to, or a copy of, material that is illegal to hold, and we keep or pass on information where the law requires it.
If you think we have got it wrong, reply to our message or open a support ticket and we will look at it again.
Reporting abuse
To report abuse coming from one of our services, email [email protected]. Please include:
- the IP address, domain or web address involved;
- the date and time it happened, with the time zone;
- what happened, with evidence: log lines, or a spam or phishing email with its full headers;
- how we can contact you, if we need to.
We read every report and act on credible ones. We may share information with the police and other authorities where the law requires or allows it; our privacy notice explains how we handle personal information.
If you have found child sexual abuse material, report it to the Internet Watch Foundation as well as to us, and don't download or share it. If someone is in immediate danger, call 999.
Our liability to you
We are not liable for any loss of income, revenue or profit, loss of business, contracts or opportunities, loss of anticipated savings, loss of goodwill, or business interruption, caused by any service being unavailable, interrupted, slow or not working as expected, however that happens.
In addition, and in each case to the extent the law allows:
- we are not liable for loss or corruption of data, except where you have bought a backup service from us and the loss results from our failure to provide it;
- we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss;
- our total liability to you for anything arising from a service, in any twelve months, is limited to what you paid us for that service in those twelve months.
If you are a consumer, we provide our services for your domestic and private use. If you use them for any business, commercial or resale purpose, the exclusion of business losses above applies to you too.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot be limited or excluded by law. If you are a consumer, nothing in these terms affects your legal rights, including under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
Events outside our control
We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control, such as power or network failures at our suppliers, attacks on our network, natural disasters, or actions by a government or regulator. We will tell you on the status page and do what we reasonably can to restore service.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change affects services you already have, we will tell you by email at least 30 days before it takes effect, and you can cancel before then. The date at the top of this page shows when they last changed.
Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer living elsewhere in the UK, you can also bring proceedings in your local courts.
