Which one do I need?
Domain validated (DV) proves you control the domain and nothing more. It issues in minutes and is the right choice for almost every site.
Organisation validated (OV) also verifies your company exists. The authority checks public records, so allow a few working days.
Extended validation (EV) is the most thorough check of your organisation. Browsers no longer display it differently to OV, so it is worth it only where a policy or auditor asks for it.
A wildcard covers every subdomain of one domain (*.example.co.uk). A multi-domain certificate covers several unrelated names on one certificate. Still unsure? Ask us — we would rather you bought the right one.
